Admission.

Most of us can relate to the STRESSING out process of applying to college. Even I got a bit tense which is very unlike my crazy self. "Admission" is an absolutely enthralling look inside the college admissions process. Written by a former part-time admissions officer from Princeton, Jean Hanff Korelitz knows her stuff. It's incredibly interesting to see what really goes on behind the scenes. When you are applying to college, there is such mystery behind whether you will get accepted or not. I really loved reading this book about the other side. It was nice to know that there is a human face and are human emotions behind this difficult but crucial process.

Chill out little ones. Read this book, enjoy your senior year, and remember to breathe.

The Age of the Unthinkable.

Author Joshua Cooper Ramo's newest book "The Age of the Unthinkable" is filled with fresh thinking for these challenging times. This is the first book that truly explains why our world is changing and gives us the hope that the world can be a better place shaped by technology, innovative leaders and great ideas. It provides a whole new framework for understanding how different societies will come together to create a new and positive world order.

This book will get people thinking, which leads to talking, which leads to ACTING towards changing our world!

8th Confession

"8th Confession" is James Patterson's eighth installment of the Women's Murder Club Series.

When a homeless man's death garners no attention, Lindsay Boxer's friend, Cindy Thomas, uses her influence as a journalist to convince San Francisco Police Department to investigate the case. Lindsay and her partner Rich Conklin have already been assigned to investigate the deaths of Ethan and Isa Bailey, however, and can't pursue the case while on duty.

As mysterious deaths begin to mount, Lindsay and Rich, find less and less time to investigate the homeless man's case. Cindy, on the other hand, continues to probe the case and bring justice to the homeless man.

As always, Patterson is the king of intrigue!

book to movie

The Horse Boy: A Father's Quest to Heal His Son by Rupert Isaacson is the story of a families incredible journey. In 2007, Rupert and his wife Kristen took their 5 year old son, who was prone to tantrums, had poor language and social skills and wasn't potty trained on the trip of a lifetime across Mongolia. From when he was a baby, they knew that something was not right with the boy.

I highly recommend reading this book so that readers can experience the intensity of parenting a child with autism, to empathize with its impact on a marriage and admire the force of love that propelled such a journey, book and soon to be movie.

Hurry up and read it before the movie comes out!

G Free Diet.

A lot of people find most diet books to be filled with the same information, "G Free Diet" is completely different from any diet book I have ever read. Celiac is not a disease that I was at all familiar with before picking up Elisabeth Hasselbeck's book. It is filled with tons of different tips on handling this sickness, as well as restaurants that offer gluten-free options on their menus.

I found this book to be practical and personal, with understandable medical and diet information, and personal, with stories meant to illustrate points and make us feel like she is just like "us" with the same worries and anxiety about the diet that people suffering from this disease have.

It's cute and informative, just like her!
