the avatar phenomenon.

Oh James Cameron, if only you created the world. (Ha, just kidding, God). I think you can all agree that AVATAR was absolutely mesmerizing. I saw it in IMAX 3D a few weeks ago, and almost forgot the fact that I was sitting still for 2 and a half hours. Which is no small feat, trust me.

The book Avatar: A Confidential Report on the Biological and Social History of Pandora by Dirk Mathison and Maria Wilhelm gives you a more intimate taste of this magical place. It guides you into the world of Avatar. Whether you are a hardcore Avatar fan, or just like to dabble in what is popular at the time, you will find this book to be extremely interesting. There are a lot of high quality pictures (LOVE). It is basically a creatively written, survival handbook of what we all know as the Avatar phenomenon.

Absolutely flawless.

for you poor folk.

Yeah, I don't know about the rest of you, but I am fricken poor. Being a Grad School student/substitute teacher is not exactly helping me live the life of the rich and famous. Lets take a look into
Save Big by Elisabeth Leamy to find out how we can cut our costs and save thousands!

Honestly, this is the most helpful book I have read in a long time. I am not exactly on the path to buy a house, but that time will come soon enough. Leamy gives a lot of ideas on how to cut costs when buying a home, a car, HEALTHCARE and even groceries. All of us twenty-somethings and older can take Leamy's great tips and use them in real life to help save cash! Go ahead, crack a grin, there is a lot to smile about.

more recipes.

The 10 Things You Need to Eat by Anahad O'Connor and Dave Lieberman is another great book filled with awesome recipes. You may have seen these two on Good Morning America, plugging their book and showing off their skills. They do not mess around with their simple and healthy recipes. I give you my word that you will be able to make them!

Basically they give you the 10 things you need to eat to stay healthy, and the rest of the book is over 100 ways to cook them. I just recently discovered quinoa which I found in this book. I am now obsessed with it! One complaint: lack of pictures. I am a very visual person, many of you can relate. I like the 2nd grader approach to books like these, lots of color and lots of pictures!

These recipes do take a certain amount of planning. Keeping certain ingredients on hand is a smart way to help you create these tasty meals for your family.

a pleasant read.

Street Game (Ghostwalkers, No 8) is not my favorite book that I've read of popular author Christine Feehan. Don't get me wrong, this book was not bad, I've just read better in the previous books in the series. I like Feehan, and Street Game is definitely worth taking a look at. The real issue is that the 423 pages of this book should have (and could have) been cut back.

Feehan has a knack for leaving characters open, giving herself the opportunity to write more stories, which she should. Her characters are always believable. This installment of the series is a fun and worth while read.

bye bye belly.

I have belly fat, you have belly fat, WE ALL have belly fat. Well, I suppose some of you don't, but we never liked you anyway. For the rest of us, lets learn how to GET RID OF OUR BELLY FAT by picking up copy of
The Belly Fat Cure by Jorge Cruise. I don't know about you, but I have never met a Jorge I didn't trust. So lets let him help us in the process of getting slim with his new system! Working out is important in maintaining a healthy weight, but what people don't realize is eating the right foods is what makes the real difference.

This book is filled with a shit ton of recipes. Recipes we ALL can make. You don't believe it? Well I took the liberty of trying out two of the recipes I read in Jorge's book, and made them ALL BY MYSELF. I am someone who is incapable of making anything but cereal and toast (everyone has their special talents), but I kicked ass in making the Seasoned Chicken Burrito on page 205 and the Rich and Meaty Pasta Bake on page 133. OMG, absolutely delicious, let me tell you! There are a lot of other great recipes like burgers and tacos. I recommend you see for yourself folks.

Learn what is belly good, what is belly bad, and start looking hot in time for spring break!

the rise and fall of an epic financial bubble.

The fall of the American financial empire, basically a train wreck you cannot rip your eyeballs off of. Authors William Bonner and Addison Wiggin give us all the gory details in the extremely popular book,
The New Empire of Debt.

Honestly, this book is a bit frightening. It's basically telling us what is to come in our society, and it's not a pretty picture. This debt is ruining our country, it's about time we all become aware of it. It's really a great book, and it will help you all understand our empire of debt a little bit better.

This book should be a requirement for all political leaders. Wait, i'll take it one step further, let's throw the rest of us in there too, this book should be required reading for all AMERICANS.

a business manifesto.

Strategy For Sustainability by Adam Werbach is primarily aimed at medium to large corporations. I just want to give you small business owners the heads up on that. However, there is something for everyone so that no one falls short of sustainability in whatever your business might be.

Here is a little taste of Werbach's main strategies:
* Diversify across generations
* Adapt to the changing environment
* Celebrate transparency
* Plan and execute systematically, not compartmentally.
* Integrate metrics
* Improve with each cycle
* Right-size regularly, rather than downsize occasionally
* Foster longevity, not immediate gratification
* Waste nothing!

Werbach has created an extremely useful guide for business owners. He celebrates transparency and encourages enterprises to listen to their outside critics as well as work with their partners to mutual benefit. I recommend this to all of you out there in the business world.
